Army Air Corp B-25 dive bomber pilot. He did his initial training in Hondo, Texas before it was an air field. He flew out of Randolph, Kelly and I think Waco. He never went over seas. They made him a flight instructor. He says he fought the battle of Texas in WW II. He was no saint. He was reprimanded for flying his B-25 under the Golden Gate Bridge

He is recovering and hopefully will be released from the hospital to a rehab center in a day or two. I really consider this a miracle and attribute it to having so many people praying for him.

Glad he is doing better...still thinking of you guys.

I would have loved to see him fly under the Golden Gate in a B-25. Wow.

Would love to meet and chat w/ him someday. I spent 21 years working bombers and can't get enough of Army Air Corp stories... I'm sure he's a hoot and the nurses will take good care of him. Glad he's on the mend now...

Just noticed this thread Pete, sorry to hear about your Father! Sounds like the tough guy from the greatest generation is on the mend. I will keep you guys in my prayers, and hope for a speedy recovery.
