If that motor revved to 8500, came with a dry sump, and was attached to a sequential trans, I think it would be worthy of the Z/28 badge - even if the power figure was on the "low" side at around 500 hp.

Edit: looks like there's a good amount of info on it through the Chevrolet performance site. Current ratings show it at only 360 hp. Not what I would have expected.

That's the NHRA rated HP, not the actual power. I can't find a formula or specific information on how NHRA does the calculation, but the actual HP is way more than that.

Initial word is this engine is at least 30k....ouch.

Crazy split on that cam. 240/284. Either that's a typo and the exhaust should be 248, or it has a horrid exhaust port and they need the extra duration to get the gasses out.
