New guy 2011 RS conv
New guy here, just sold my 1997 C5 Corvette and got a 2011 RS conv. I had the Corvette 7 years, it had about 157,000 miles on it and was getting to a point where something always needed work, and I didn't feel like working on it anymore. The new Camaro is like new, everything works fine and just enjoying driving it.

So far so good with the new Camaro RS conv. Just sold the 97 C5 Corvette yesterday for $9500, fairly cheap but high miles 157k. The Corvette was still in overall good condition, but just got tired of constantly working on the "little" things. The Camaro is way more comfortable and overall more dependable, very solid. My last Camaro before this 2011 was a 1968 RS, I believe it was a 327 in it. Looking forward to cruising Gulf Blvd with top down from Clearwater to St Pete. Getting ready to do a little detailing on it to really make it shine.

Congrats, and just to let you know, from what I've seen on this forum, 157K are "baby" miles for the Camaro Gen5, so you have made a great choice. GREAT people on this forum too.

Agreed. Out of the 5 cars I've owned, this has been the most reliable car I've ever owned. Just consistent oil changes, tires, and windshield washer fluid. Not because its newer but because weird stuff don't break on it. I always assumed because this is based on an Australian design, it has to be very sturdy as driving conditions are not always smooth, paved roads. Hence the weight on the car. I've had my RS for 10 years and while I have only 90k on it, there is no reason why it wouldn't last 250k if I pushed it. I chose the RS as the interior between an RS vs and non-RS is night/day interior-wise. The leather, HUD, etc so great choice. |
