New Camaro South Chapter

It was a great meeting today with the Capital Area Camaro Club and a good cruise to Grill 57. It looks like we will have a new Chapter of Camaro South in Raleigh. I am looking forward to participating in many great events with all the Camaro South chapters. Welcome to Camaro South!

Thanks Mike. Capital Area Camaros are excited about becoming a Camaro South Club. Our group thought long and hard about being a “club” at all. We started in March with an email list service as a way for Camaro owners to contact other owners for a cruise or trip to the race track. The momentum we have enjoyed to date has been fantastic. We have multiple Camaros from all generations with young and “seasoned” owners, even two members with Camaro drag cars. Member suggested events over the last few months have included a test and tune night at Benson dragway, cruise-ins or car shows at Grill 57, Apex, Goldston, Asheboro and Thomasville. We have also bowled as a group and enjoyed a fast five move cruise. The group was proud that our Pink Racer Team exceeded their goal while walking in the Susan G Komen race for a cure. So we were hesitant to change the culture that is working so well for us. However, now that we are looking at larger events including a club road course day at Virginia International Raceway (VIR) we need to formalize things a bit. Camaro South certainly has the experience for large events and provides a jump start to the organization we need to pull this off. Mike and Wendy made the trip to Raleigh and answered all our questions for us plus other Camaro South members have joined us at several of our events. So we see this as a win for our club and for Camaro South as a whole. I’m personally excited to be affiliated with the groups from Fayetteville, Jacksonville and Columbia and to have access to Camaros for Heroes in Spring and hopefully an annual Road Course event sponsored by the Raleigh group in the fall.

Raleigh and central NC area Camaro enthusiasts and owners of all generation cars are invited to join us. Find out more by searching for Capital Area Camaro Club on Facebook or by sending and email to our listserv at capitalcamaro@simplelists.com

Capital Area This Weekend

We are meeting at 2PM Saturday for a non-Interstate cruise from Raleigh to Erwin where we are attending a cruise-in at Sonic which is hosted by another club. Will be stopping along the way for photo ops at some good ole Carolina back drops.

Then seeing Transformers 3 Saturday night.

Everyone is invited to join!
