1LE suspension now available on other models!?!?! Not just 1LE cars
It's now a option!?!? Ok soo... Playing around trying to build a 2015 camaro.. You can get a automatic with 1le suspension now ?!? It's just not labeled as a 1le car. You can get just the suspension on a automatic and manual ss car I built but don't get the wheels or body parts it looks like. Anyone else seen this? All the guys that want a automatic 1le suspension car or a regular ss and don't like the wheels or body changes. Interesting |

It's been a dealer installed option for awhile now.

Dealer installed is the key word here. Nothing here is is saying dealer installed as normal. It's not dealer installed it's factory from what I'm gathering. I've always seen dealer installed next to it or (not available in this configuration you must section blank)

Is not the actual 1LE package only about $500 more, and that gets you the better tires and wheels, closer ratio tranny, and all the other 1LE goodies? Why would you choose this option? You would really have to love the painted engine cover!

They always say dealer installed next to them etc on the website unless they changed it? It was always pretty plain to see it was dealer installed and now it's not saying it. If you're right.

Always wondered does the dealer give you the take off parts when cars are ordered in with these options. Because then you could ebay brand new take off parts and recoup some of your cost

Take a ZL1 and minus the supercharger
Swap the magnetic ride shocks for tuned shocks That is it, $58k ZL1, $38K 1LE or Z28 swap LS7 (500) for LS3 (426) and multimatic shocks for tuned shocks Z28 $75k 1LE $38K See no problems |

A lot more involved than this generalization. Just in the case of the ZL1, the 1LE does not have the same rear end, axles or driveshaft. Nor does it have the ZL1's brakes, aero bits, rockers, rear diffuser or spoiler. The LSA also has many improvements to the block and rotating assembly to handle the boost. Not to mention there's a whole lot of miscellaneous equipment that is standard on the ZL1 that is optional on the 1LE.

1LE and ZL1 are not the same rear end or axles.

Lower compression is better for boosted engines so that's not a disadvantage in the LSA. Point is the 1LE is a hell of an option package for the SS but it's not near as close to either Z car as you claim. It's not all that difficult to run the price tag deep into the $40k's to get a decently equipped one either so the price gap is much narrower as well.
