Chevy proves the Silverado is tougher than the F-150

http://www.forbes.com/sites/joannmul...o#2159fd262465

Speaks for itself.

I do like ford's reply about how they are getting picked on for being the #1 truck for 39 years. There were many, many years in the last 39 that Chevy & GMC sales were higher than ford. It's certainly an accurate comparison when the Silverado and Sierra were coming off the same assembly line.

They all claim stuff that isn't true. This however is hard to fake. Why would they use that in the bed. That would't last a day in my business. Although, I only buy 3/4 ton are higher trucks.

Most 150 owners won't be dumping blocks from a skid loader into their bed. Really, I don't know anyone that would load blocks that way.

Unbelievable. An empty toolbox put a hole through the aluminum bed of the Ford. Sheesh.

That's hilarious. Gotta love marketing guys. I rarely see people "working" brand new trucks. Work trucks get trashed. IDC who builds them.

The F150, Silverado and Ram 1500 are all extremely capable for the primary purpose that they're purchased for...

Going to malls, compensating and ego stroking.

I agree with these comments. I do not see many F150's, or 1500's hauling concrete blocks. All concrete block companies I know of drive f350 diesels and the blocks are on the trailers if they do not have them delivered.

My company has 3 new Silverado's for work purposes. The beds get utilized daily.

Maybe not but plenty of normal people use their pickups going to Lowes on weekends doing home landscaping and home improvements. When I had mine I did that quite a bit. I got 3/4 ton of rock dumped in the back of my 1/2 ton truck by one of those front end loaders and I had no bedliner...
Also I had a toolbox like one they showed in my bed and had to do a panic stop, slid from the back to the front of the bed and made a dent in it, it probably would have went right through one of those new Fords.

You know, that's true. And often they aren't purchased with bed liners I don't think.

Marketing of course exaggerates the hell out of it... But the new aluminum body is horrible. I am not oppose to using high grade aluminum for trucks but use it on the chassis, hood, inside the body, mix it up etc... I shouldn't be able to use pliers and peel a truck like it's a banana (https://youtu.be/2fVSdA1rYKE).

Concrete blocks... is a stretch but tool boxes, shovels, and other small items are not. I am currently and slowly have started moving to our new house and I use my truck almost daily. Like this past weekend... I had 2 garage door openers, tool boxes, shovels, ladders and so did my father in law. I even used the bed of my truck as a ladder extender which both my father in law and I used together which is 450+ lbs right between the both of us ON the ladder that was ON the bed of the truck. If that was the aluminum bed frame, we'd be in some serious shit I think. Not to mention that dropping a socket or two on it and without a scratch on my truck.
