Just drove my 2012 2SS after 3 hour fuse pull, my car has 26000 miles on it, I have never ran anything but Top Tier 93 in it, but it always seemed to have a little "lag" in it going 0-60.

It accelerates much smoother now, and I could smell the high test exhaust after I parked it for the first time since I have owned the car (Had it about a month and a half), which I think both would be a sign that I'm on high test timing now.

Excellent advice.

I did the fuse pull on my L99 today. I only left the fuses out for 90 minutes. All I can say is.....

.... WHOLE-EEEE-COWWW!!

My car had over 100 miles on it when I bought it new, so I assumed that someone (knucklehead salesman) probably put 87 in it at some point. My test track is a little deserted blacktop road behind my house. You have to make a sharp left at 5-10mph, turning onto the road, then there is a fairly steep hill for about 1/4 mile (you could pedal a bike up it, but you'd have to work at it)....

Anyways, prior to the fuse pull, the car would enter the hill in second gear, then drop down to first when you'd accelerate hard. It had never broken the tires loose doing this, although it would slam you back into the seat. After the fuse pull?? ... It downshifted into first and boiled the tires until I let up, when it caught second it chirped hard.. At this point, I let up. The car is still being broken in and I am trying not to hammer it too much.

In about a week, I'll report back on mileage.

Ohhhhhh yeahh... I am liking this!!!! Thanks!!!! Thanks!!!... Did I say thanks??!!!

Got a 2015 2SS/RS L99. Already did some mods (Kooks LT, fab xpipe hi-flow cats to stock mufflers, Airraid CAI, catch can and custom tune); will the pull mess with the tune ? Or, did the tune already correct the problem the fuse pull would correct ? Only have 2500 miles.

Tune usually resets Long Term Fuel Trims (LFTFs) and STFTs(short). But a fuse cant hurt. Your tune wont be messed with our deleted by doing a fuse pull. Fuse pull equates to a battery pull over night. Youre good to give it a shot with no harm done, although I'm sure your tune took care of that for ya.

Did the fuse pull overnight and could tell immediately it made a difference. Upon remote start up the engine was quieter and a much smoother sound. Driving was a better response and smoother shifting. Thanks all for the tip !

I'm surprised that this is still an issue on 2015 Camaros. I guess I should pull the fuse tonight and see if I notice any difference tomorrow.

This has probably been asked but searching all these pages is tough. Is there a difference in pulling these fuses verses unhooking the battery cables?

Yes it works on LS3. I had to stop at a station out in the middle of no where about 6 months after getting my car. All they had was 89 or 87 octane. So was able to get home and then run 2 tanks of 93, did fuse pull and she was back to kick assness.

They can not reprogram the computers in the car to fix the issue without spending a ton of money having the Camaro re-CARB certified. The issue should not be in 2016's since they will be a totally new car which would have to have a certification of its own do to new engines and body design.

The original post says unhooking the battery doesn't achieve the same effect, but I'm curious why? Why would pulling a fuse do what unplugging the battery won't do?

Ahh, makes sense. Still surprising, most of the cars I've owned adjust on the fly. The Camaro has the ability to sense the lower octane fuel and switches maps, you'd think it would have the ability to sense the higher octane fuel and switch back on it's own also.

I just pulled the fuse yesterday on my 2014 SS L99. What an incredible difference! My question is, will a street tune improve the performance even more or will it feel like this when it's complete?

Hey Guys!
Maybe this is the wrong thread but can you please give me an insight on what it can be?

I found a fuse in my glovebox - it is green, 30A.
I was looking under the hood but could not find anything that might have space for this one.
Anything else I can check on my side? Any idea? Thanks in advance!
P.S. 2012 SS/L99

Regards,
Me
