Opinion: 2010 2LT to 2011 1SS?
I have a 2010 2LT (VIN #589!) and I love it...but I took a 2ss for a drive the other day...and that V8 is nice...I missed that...the power is great in the V6, but still....
Finances don't easily allow me to slide right into a 2SS...but I could swing a 1 SS pretty easily. That would leave me with some cash for mods...would miss out on some of the 2SS features, but could add most in... Concerned about the durability of the cloth interior....(have kids, do a spill is possible!)... I could add the gauge pod, hurst shifter, hopefully the HUD at some point... So is it worth it, trading options for power? I know it's a personal question, and I'm the one who needs to make it and live with it...but I'm curious what everybody here thinks! |

I'm in same boat pretty much. Considering a upgrade from my 1lt to a 1ss maybe even a 2lt just for those extra toys inside.
That being said, I'd say try if you can go SS |

The cloth hasn't been an issue for me. I actually like it.
Since you are thinking about it, I say go for it. Or could you pocket away some money and get a 2012 V8? New interior maybe?

I love my 1ss, I would rather have the v8 than the leather.I have always preferred cloth interior. the only things I couldnt live without were floor gauges and blue tooth, ive done both and am happy as hell with my choice. my sticker on a 2010 1ss/rs m6 with stripes was $33,432 I dont know if it went up at all for 2011. Good luck.

I guess I'd answer that question with another. Do you want a V8 muscle car, or interior amenities?
Personally, I'd rather have the SS. Of course I'm obsessed with power....

Wow, what's with everyone on here suddenly wanting to trade in their 6's? I'm sure the V8 is awesome, but once the novelty wears off, can you live with the substantially bigger car payment and other costs? If you can manage to swing a good deal, then more power to ya. But in reality, the dealer will probably try to bend you over. It's not uncommon for a new car to depreciate up to 20% or more as soon as you drive it off the lot. If you've got $$$ to burn, go for it

the cost difference between the 1ss and 2ss are pretty minimal. if you can afford to have cash for mods after buying a 1ss, chances are you can get a 2ss.
you need to decide what's important to you. no one here can clarify if the v8 will be worth it for you, or what options you really want. |

I vote for the gadgets! Of course I have a Ninja, so I could spank any ss out there anyway. The power will be fun at first, but then you have to live with the lack of options at some point.

forget the 2011 1SS... save a few more bucks and go for the 2011 2SS. you've got a v6 with leather and ultimate conveniences inside, you liked the taste of the of the v8, and if you get the 1SS - you'll be wishing you had gotten the 2SS.
