What a week

Here's my story. Last Tuesday I was changing from snow tires to my regular tires. I got out my brand new floor jack from Harbor Freight. Lifted up the front passenger side from the lifting point. Moved to get my jack stand and BAM the jack seal blew out. Hydraulic fluid everywhere, the car slams down and the jack slams into the engine. Broke the a/c condenser, power steering Len, radiator line, and the top radiator mounts. $800 to fix it all and jack is busted. Sunday at 11:00pm - flat tire. Take it to be fixed Today and the hole is in the sidewall, so,it's unfixable. I had to buy a new tire. The capper is on the way home today I GOT REAR ENDED!!!!!! I need to fix my karma or something.

Whoa man, did you murder a baby or something? Karma is out to get you.

Sorry to hear about all of that, your poor car! AND WALLET!

I'm always nervous when jacking mine up, but fortunately have never had any issues like this. I always use ramps when I can, but obviously, this time, you couldn't, since you were swapping wheels.

On a side note - I'd keep those Winter tires on a little longer, we're not quite done yet, despite the warmer than usual Winter.

You going to try and get a new jack and ask them to pay the costs for damages it caused to your vehicle?

Dude that sucks, I'm so sorry. I just used jack stands for the first time last Thursday to paint my calipers, I was so nervous. I jacked the car up and positioned the stands to the points as quickly as I could because I was afraid of that happening, and everyone said I was being a baby. Case in point- it does happen. Best of luck to you, it sounds like you need it.

That sucks man, sorry to hear.

On a different note though, shouldn't Harbor Freight be responsible for the damage to your engine? If they sold you defective product (which they did because it broke first time you used it) then they are responsible for the damages.
