No. I do know that all those ends were missing on mine when we bought it used with 41k miles. I was told by a mechanic buddy that it's just aesthetic weather proof stuff and isn't a concern. I'm all about function over form, so I haven't bothered with it. Been driving it this way for a couple of years now w/o any issues.

I replaced mine about a year ago. It comes in one piece and took about 10mins to swap out both sides. they just clip in at each end and form fit in the middle.

Just out of curiosity, does anyone know why these end pieces seem to come off so regularly? You wouldn't think it would have anything to do with the wind pressure. Is it due to the expanding/contracting of the part from the elements, or is there some underground market for roof end pieces that I don't know about...?

By my inspection on my old ones , it just looks like a bad design. The end pieces are vulcanized on and with age combined with high heat and sun , they tend to shrink and the ends separate due to the adhesive drying up and disintegrating . Mine lasted about 9 1/2 years before I had to replace them.

I would say as a preventative, use detail sprays like Shine Society or Adams that have UV blockers and condition the rubber and plastic. This will preserve the materials for them to last longer.

Did they have to paint them or they come painted black? I have a shop doing mine but can’t get the paint to match the roof
