It can be done with Vinyl as you can see.. All they did was place them closer together..

Actually, what they probably did was use a single stripe for the side, position it, then slice the vinyl right along the seam. That's how I had to install the side flags I put on my 4th gen. Clean and easy.

Of course, I could be wrong, but that's my guess. Production stripes probably come in two decals per hockey stick stripe. One to put after the seam and one to put before.

You have an awesome car No doubt.. However what did the SEMA stripes have that yours didn't?? It's the same stripes.. And you're right, I would take your car in a heartbeat, even with the stripes that would drive me nuts looking at.. However in a year, I'd probably have them removed and re-done perhaps..

I can almost guarantee that they're not the same. Like I said, the SEMA stripes probably started as a single piece of vinyl per side. I'd be willing to be that the production ones come as two pieces.

Me too. I originally ordered the hood and hockey stripes, but I deleted the option and will order the hockey stripes seperately.

that would have been smart 1 large piece and cut and taper in the seam, that would ensure even application all the way and no spacing.

but

hood and hockey was actually a 8pc kit 3pcs each side hockey (6) 1 hood 1 trunk 1 rear.

I told dealer I did not like the seam and he was going to order me a new set
and give me money to have someone else install.

I just dont know who as he said he paid a pro $250 to come inhouse and do it? But a pro should have done a better Job.

My feeling is it was a decal comp with a rookie installer.

I guess ill just take the money and run for now, Sucks for me but I really dont want anyone else touching my car.

I did have it naked Friday Sat and Sunday, so I may just decide to leave it bare if it grows to much of an issue for me.

It's actually really easy to install yourself if you have the time and patience to get it right. Probably took my 45 minutes to put the decals on the side of my 4th gen, and they spanned from wheel to wheel. Just make sure you've got a friend to help you place everything and verify that it's lined up and you should be able to do it without a problem.

If you don't feel confident doing it yourself, that's one thing, but if you think you could do it, I'd give it a whirl. Worst case scenario, you buy another set of stripes.
