Listen to your dad, get the SS, start off at the top, my first car was my 71 350 Camaro that my dad bought for me when I was 15 and every Camaro I have owned since has been a V8.

Ok well go to Quirk Chevrolet and ask them to let you test both an LT and a SS. Quirk is the biggest chevrolet dealer in New England and they currently have a few camaros with each being automatic. If you like something but in a different color, they can always order it for you.

Since you're unsure of what you want, this is the best thing for you to do. Drive and view both vehicles through your own eyes rather than Camaro5's. Then when you make your decision there will be no regret.

Oh, and if you want my purely unbiased opinion, I'd buy a SS .

I went with a bunch of my friends. Best experience I've had in Boston in a long time. Especially since I go to school in DOT.

My parent's and I are going to Quirk tomorrow! It's cool you suggested that though. Well you be able to test drive with only a permit? I mean it is legal to drive and such. but I have a feeling the dealer will be against it.

Whether you can test drive with a permit or not is the Dealer's decision, so I'm not sure.

If he's a responsible driver, which it SEEMS that he is, all that needs to be done is put the title under a parent's name with him as a co-driver.

However, let's say that the title is under your mother's name and you are a co-driver. In Massachusetts if you get into a major accident, the party at fault is subject to loss of ownership of property. This means that if you cause a fatal or near-fatal incident, your mothers property is "up for grabs".

I'm not saying this to frighten you, but rather to enlighten in case this was unknown before.

I always believe you can get more car for a better price go used. SS is my vote if no real difference in insurance. As far as the cloth seats mine are easy to clean but get dirty actually pretty fast

I was at the parade too...incredible! If you don't have any luck at Quirk Chevy I'd take a little drive up to Portsmouth NH for Portsmouth Chevy...at the end of the day all dealerships are out to get every penny out of you but I had a pretty good buying experience from them with my Camaro
