GM has to get their price point closer to the mustang and I bet Camaro will beat the mustang in sales then. Talked to new mustang owners and they said a big reason why they got one was it was cheaper

Hellcats are not selling which is why the price has come down so much on them.

Not so "badly beaten". Camaro continues to be in the best position among pony cars.

Snapshot of retail sales and ATP's for August and YTD. Camaro retail sales for August up from July and all three saw ATP's dip slightly. Camaro still ahead YTD both sales and ATP.

Dodge is fleet dumping at record pace. I've never seen it this high. FoMoCo is over 30% fleet across the company with Lincoln in the high 20% range. Going to be a rough year for FoMoCo and FCA.

Thanks for the info. Fleets sales of 37% for Challenger (2,314 units) and 3% for Camaro (151 units).

Year to date, GM has the lowest daily rental mix of any full-line automaker at about 8 percent of total sales. GM remains on track to decrease daily rental sales by 50,000 units in 2017.

The Dodge Challenger recorded its best ever August sales. Challenger sales were up 19 percent, its third record sales month this year. Dodge Charger sales increased 11 percent compared with the same month in 2016. The Charger had its best August sales since 2006. Sales of the Dodge Grand Caravan minivan were up 62 percent, its best August sales since 2004

Thanks for the figures @Medisin , that gives us a good picture of what the ordinary consumer is going after. Camaro is up by 900 sales in that retail category. Not that it matters to me, but for those who suspect it has no appeal(M6G), etc....

As for Dodge, they have done a good job of asserting themselves to be the 'true' muscle car and it's showing, I see these scat pack/srt cars everywhere, a lot of them younger owners too. I'm not into the Chally but do find the Charger appealing.

I wonder what chassis these scat packs are riding on? I know it's that mercedes platform, but is SRT doing any tuning or adding any parts? These cars would lose appeal to me if they don't have feedback of the road or a planted ride. I've been a passenger in an R/T and Scat Pack. The R/T felt odd, you couldn't really feel the road, it felt like you were floating on a frame. Go drive a base ford focus and you'll understand what I mean. Don't remember much about the Scat, it felt better but still not planted/stiff enough for my taste. I definitely see the value in the Scat Pack, especially with incentives. But the suspension/chassis would be a deal-breaker for me, along with reliability.
