Gas stations in so cal shutting down....

due to shortages and gas prices expected to hit $5.00 to $6.00 a gallon. Ouch! I just sent the wife to fill up the tahoe just in case we completely run out.

Interesting. You would think that this is the sort of thing that the national news would report on. I wonder why they aren't.

That sucks guys. It burns me up to pump gas for $3.50 a gallon. No reason gas prices should be as high as they are.

California made it's bed with the special "boutique" fuel blends and other restrictions, and now it gets to lay in it.

Low grade here in IL near Stlouis is either 3.63 or some
have come down to 3.59 a gallon. I paid 3.74 for mid grade
just this morning.

Shrug. . . . . ~
My thoughts any thing over bout 2.00 for low grade is tooo
much.

Not as much California as the EPA. Did you know there are currently 17 different gas formulations in the US by EPA requirement? Gas prices always spike here in Indy when the switch from winter to summer formulations occur.

I do the same thing. Gas prices up? I'll just ride the bike.

In the bay area, were up above $5. 91 is $5.19-$5.59 right now driving my diesel since it's over a dollar cheaper! Any ideas why it spiked so high the past few days?

While I am not from California, I do know that they require a special blend for that state. When the refinery burned up, they were forced to out source the fuel (from Oregon and Washington) to keep up with the demand. Well guess what, they won't do it for free so you get to pay more.

This is a perfect example of over-regulation hurting average people.
