Long time tunring over

I went to start up my car for the first time and i noticed that it took a few seconds to turn the car over. I started the car atleast 5 times and each time, it was still pretty long. Ive driven many cars and have never seen it take this long.
I was just wondering if this is specific to my car only or to all. I remember watching the Indy vids and sept and you can hear those cars taking a while to turn over as well.
If this is not across all cars, any suggestions on how to cut the amount of time it takes for her to turnover?
Shes getting PDId tommorow..

my sisters santa fe has a similar problem. Mostly occurs when the fuel tank has just been filled to the brim, or the car parked on an incline for a while (ie overnight on our driveway) I think its a fuel system issue, as if i cycle the ignition power on an off to run the fuel pump (dont try to start, just to on position) 3 or 4 times, it starts up no problem

i have a 1t... mine turns over pretty quick... not as quick as other cars i have had... but it hasn't caused any concern for me...

**edit** im gonna check it now

**edit** just started it up a few times... I am not sure how to describe how long it takes to start up.. not quite 2 seconds.. like I said before I don't see it as a cause for concern... how long is it taking for you to start up?

If you think it is out of the normal, I'd take it in to the dealer and have them check it out. I know on my 135i, there was a problem like this and it turned out to be fuel pump issues I think.

My 2500 HD had a similar problem. Weird thing is, it went in cycles. It would start immediately for about 10 starts, had to crank on it for a couple of seconds for about 10 starts, and it would go all the way up to not starting until the third time I cranked it over. Nobody could find a problem with it and it just kept going in cycles. They thought it might be a problem with the fuel pressure regulator and it was not keeping the gas in the line, but I didn't want to spend the money to fix it as it was only a minor annoyance. I sold it before it ever became a more serious problem.
