No can do. Only choices for the ZL1 is 3.23 or 3.73. Wish somebody made something other.

Oh, you can change the gears out, like 3.23-to-3.73 or 3.73-to-3.23. But that's the whole enchilada of choices.

Wonder if any aftermarket guys (motive, etc) plan to make some gear options available for the ZL1 diff. Might not be a big enough market out there for them to bother.

ahh I see... but still that's 1200 on top of gear swap to 3.73 lol sounds like too much extra steps for me.

to be honest I think if someone had options for the ZL1 diff it would be sale pretty well! ZL1 is already a beat.. but with good or better gearing..

I can get the sizes for you. I got mine off eBay for about that price. Glad to have it. They come and go so get them when you see it. I have 2 different sizes so I got lucky..

I went ahead and purchased the one you posted. The seals outer diameter appears to be identical.

Don,
Is the other tool you have per chance the one... The one you have listed appears to be too large for the axle seals.

Thanks,

Denton

Great write up. Just got a ZL1 rear diff and axles and your info helped alleviate my research. I just need to decide whether to go ZL1 propshaft or DSS aluminum.

Happy it helped! Not sure you can go wrong with either the ZL1 driveshaft or an aftermarket. But the ZL1 shaft utilizes the rubber guibos on both ends which I believe decreases transmitted noise. And I can confirm that the ZL1 shaft is indeed quiet.

With the solid cradle bushings, coil overs and all of the poly under the back end I will probably go with the ZL1 shaft. If I crank up the coil overs now she creaks and makes all kids of noise. Pulling into my driveway I actually get a rear tire off the ground. With the new diff I'm leaving the standard bushings as I did the poly ones with stock diff.

Do you know if v6 brakes will mount up like on the ss hubs I'm using the whole dropout subframe or cradle and also will I need different lower arms to clear a drag pack setup

with a 2010 SS a6.... if I am swapping in a manual ZL1 3.73 diff, do I need the auto or manual OEM driveshaft?

Or will I need something from DSS?
