Steel wheel locking lug removal

My '12 came without the spare tire and I found out today it has the single locking lug per wheel. Got the channel locks on it as tight as i could and with the breaker bar added it of course slipped.

Do I need to actually get the lock for it or is there another method?

Slap a 12 point socket on it, that usually works (with a hammer). Break it loose, then remove the socket...

Worst comes to worst, if you buy 4 new lugs as replacements without locks, most tire shops will do the swap for you, sometimes just for a tip.

They often have a tool to remove them all without keys.

Went to the Chevy house for a puzzle lock removal tool and the four chrome locking lugs they sell as a replacement kit. $30 and change.

The new silver staggered 6th gen takeoffs they were selling at $700 I'm picking up today for $595. Most expensive set of lugs I've ever bought.

My inner 5 year old seems to be firmly in control this spring.
