A sad day!
For those of you have not heard GM announced it will close its doors on the Oshawa plant which has been in existence over 100 years. All fifth generation Camaros were produced there and I am proud to say I own one, definitely the best GM vehicle I have ever owned. My regards to all the workers there. Thanks

Quote:
That is a shame, but a shame of all the people that work there losing their job. I have been up there either 4 or 5 times for the BBOMG. Was up there with are Camaro club Upstate C 5. Took the tour thru the plant meet some awesome people. I have a 2011 1SS/RS IBM and will nver get ride of it. Have change it over 4 times.

A sad day for sure. I feel for all employees affected by this.
I was working for International Truck and Engine (International Harvester/Navistar) when they closed the doors here in Chatham in 2009. There is still a large empty lot in the middle of the city. It's hard to replace thousands of good paying jobs. |

I think about Mike Judge, whom I met at BBOMG, in 2014 as I recall, and who had helped me throughout the build and delivery process of my 2013 ZL1, as well as all of the Oshawa GM employees who signed my Build Sheets and Camaro-centric material that came with my car upon delivery.
I so hope that all of you will be ok. Mike, she still has only 39 km on her! Jim |

I agree with everyone's comments, ALL GM line workers are class 1 people, on both sides of the borders.
Mike Judge, I do believe retired a few years ago, which is when I saw him last, but he is the TRUE SENSE OF THE TERM "CLASS & LOYAL" . He is a man who went out on his way, at his own expense, to give many of us a lithograph of our car, with the signatures from ALL the front line assemblers with a letter of thanks; by the way he approached GM to use their letterhead to really personalize it and they REFUSED. Mike is and always will be a CLASS ACT and AMBASSADOR for the corporation and the brand...to bad the executives in the "ivory towers" ARE NOT! GOOD LUCK TO THE WORKERS AND REMEMBER IT'S NOT YOUR FAULT, YOU'RE JUST THE PAWNS IN A CROOKED CHESS GAME. YOUR REAL SUPPORTERS ARE YOUR CUSTOMERS, AND I ONLY SPEAK FOR MYSELF when I say I would not be at all upset if you go work for another manufacturer all together, so GM can see what quality employees they are losing. HOLD YOUR HEAD UP HIGH AND BE PROUD OF WHO YOU ARE, NOT WHO YOU WORK FOR!
