Are some of these cars built here?
Where is GM's headquarters? Where is the profit that is made going? The "It's built in Canada" argument is ignorant.

The far East will prevail in the longterm, and as far as I'm concerned it really doesn't matter. After all it's better to trade luxury commodities, than bombs and bullets.
Go occupy something. Nobody is talking about trading bullets, but a strong industrial backbone is necessary to our homeland defense if the worst should happen. I'm all for them selling their products here, at prices COMPETITIVE with US prices.

The jobs are in Canada. Just as Toyota, and Honda provide jobs in the US. That's what really matters.

No. That is NOT what really matters. Jobs are only a small part of the equation. Furthermore, if you want to talk jobs, if American manufacturing costs could be made competitive with imported good manufacturing costs via taxes, you would see more manufacturing jobs in the US in all industries.

I know i'm a young guy.

But I remember being told that 1HP per 1 Cubic Inch was huge way back when... Now it's common to see 1.5HP per 1 Cubic Inch.. Someday it'll be 2 or 3..

It's just technology.

400 is still an impressive number, but getting it to do that with fuel economy is even more impressive.

Have you guys seen this Nissan Juke-R? It's ugly as sin but it's demanding respect.

An online performance stat calculator predicted a spectacular 3.6 second shoot from Zero to 60 miles per hour; 11.44 seconds to cover a quarter mile and a 124 mph top speed with the new 480 hp engine. If however, the Juke-R is lighter than the assumed weight of 3200 lbs of the Juke for the test, the numbers may go down.

This guy is on a roll, and I have agreed with everything he said so far.

It's a specialty one-off testing vehicle. It's not meant for production.

With just a conservative tune I'm seeing around 2 already... 3.5L = 213 cubic inches... i'm running probably about 425 HP... but yea, stock it's 1.63...

Dude next time you get on the highway count how many cars pass you or you pass that could even hang with your car.

Fact is even a bone stock v6 Camaro is going to be faster than 99% of the cars you encounter with everyday driving. Most cars out there are minivans, trucks, and just regular economy sedans of varying sizes.

As long as your car runs a mid 14 second 1/4 or better youll be faster than most things you encounter on the road.

Now sure that 1% is the part you have to worry about but who cares really? There is always someone faster or with more power.

I would say a mid 14 second car will be faster than 40-50% of "sporty" cars you encounter while a 12 or low 13 second car will be faster than 70-80% of cars you will encounter. Maybe even more...
