Z/28 to be the most expensive camaro offered

I disagree and my predictions are as follows the zl1 is camaros top of the line so it has to be priced below 54k. It's a stripped camaro with and LS 7 motor and ceramic rotors and recado seats . Having said that the market adjustment will be at least 10 k minimum.

These are retail prices AKA our cost not GM cost which would be significantly lower.

Everything above an LS is great profit and good business for GM by Mr. Lutz own admission.

The Z28 being low volume will mean a price premium on parts from 3rd party suppliers and it uses a lot of them, but it also has to be good for business since they're not a charity.

This sure seems like 1969/1970 all over again, I hope this isn't the peak before a great fall due to government restrictions.

So you don't believe the quotes from several sources stating the Z/28 is in fact now the top tier Camaro? Has already been stated from some within GM. Just because you removed some cheap deadener, carpet, wiring and the radio and ac. Does not mean it's cheaper. Add in the cost of the engine, suspension, brakes, coolers and seats and you are well north of a ZL1 price.

1969 Camaro Base model retail price ranged from $2,621 to $2,992.

1969 Z28 price range: from $3,588 to $3,719. A loaded Z28 was 4400.00. 1969 all-aluminum block ZL1 was 7200.00.

So the 2014 Z28 is basically being treated the way an ultra rare 1969 ZL1 was treated back in 1969.

They will still sell plenty of Z28's and we will see lots of wrecked Z28's within hours after they are bought. Just like with the ZL1's.

There is a lot of custom parts on that car including the handbuilt engine.
To boot... I expect this car will be limited like a COPO.

The Z28 will be lower in price than the ZL1, not by much, but will be lower.....

Now the optional A/C in the Z28 would throw you over or the near the cost of the ZL1

However, as stated in the reveal, by the GM exec, something to the effect "the Z28 will be the most highly collectible of the camaro's" I put that at that the LS7 will most likely only have 1-2 year run before the CAFE rules take it out of the platform and with that the Z28 most likely will disappear again for years until 7-8 th Generations like the ZL1 will do

Well I was just averaging it out from one pkg to the next. But I stated my opinion. The car is not worth the price they're going to ask. (If its $60000+ which it will be) Period.

I tend to think that the z28 is going to be between the loaded SS and a base ZL1. look at the vette....z06 is the same type of car in its group as the z28 is. its right there under the zr1 and above the z51. I think the Camaro will come in right around 50. base model under base model zl1 pricing.

I love how people keep saying its going to be less than a ZL1 even though Chevrolet themselves have stated in numerous places that it will be the top tier Camaro, above the ZL1 in pecking order, and in price. The ZL1 is no longer the top Camaro.

OK well after all the bitching I have done and reading and continued depression and disappointment, I have come to this same conclusion. So many wanted the LS7 in the car and the MPG's I would guess are going to be worse than the ZL1. If it was priced for any Joe Blow to purchase, since me included would love to, and many more would buy it just for the badge, GM's CAFE rating's would suffer tremendously. So all in all, the car is built to please a select few and the hallowed name is back so it may bring butt's to the dealerships, but I am saddened, jealous, disappointed and angry that I have saved, waited and waited and saved and I won't be able to get within a "tensa-Barriers" length to seeing one much less owning one in real life. Truly sad.

no one said faster means more expensive. I base my judgment off of the tier of corvettes. its set up the same as the z06 and it falls right behind the zr1. yeah there is a bigger $ gap between the zr1 and the z06 than there is the ss and zl1, but its wishful thinking maybe.

Yes, but the Z28 will run rings around it on the track. Chevy wanted to make sure of that and ALSO that it would beat whatever Ford comes up with next.
