Anyone use Gorilla lug nuts/locks?

I got a set of the 10 spoke aluminum wheels off a 2014 Camaro to replace the steel wheels on my LS and am trying to figure out whether or not to go with the Gorilla lug nuts/locks. I got a set of Factory Bulge and the cone looks too wide (it fits in about half way up the cone) and the Acorn bulge looks like it barely fits. I'm getting the rims and tires mounted so will have to use the factory open lug nuts in the mean time. Any recommendations?

Thank you

I've got a set of MRR 228's installed with Gorilla "The System" locks. All the lug nuts are locks and use the same key. I think the part number is 71643NBC

Careful you don't damage the wheels using improper lugs. Get the right lugs first.

I had a set of Guard Locks on my other car but they don't come in black so I may have to settle for chrome. I've been looking at The System as well. I guess I'll wait and see what the dealer has to say. If the stock lugs from the steel rims are ok for awhile, I can deal with ugly until I figure out what to do.

Thanks all.

I use them, but they aren't that protective. Very easily removed. Never had a rim stolen though.

How to hug your camaro
Buy the car that you would most like to get beat in. The other guy will always be faster.

wheel locks are nothing for the average car thief. 1 size up in a long socket wrench and a microfiber towel will grip and backout any wheel lock. My buddies work at a tire shop and customers almost NEVER have their lug keys...just saying... seen a guy take off all 4 wheel locks like this in seconds.

I've heard that, especially with the spline type. The Guard Locks would present a bit more of a challenge, I would think because the lock is inside a ring that spins and if I got all locking, that might take a while so might discourage a thief. I guess they'll either take the wheels or take the car ... either way I'm screwed if it comes to that.

There is an old saying which is still true. "If a pro want your wheels (or your car), it's gone." (Maybe not in 60 seconds, give them about 180 seconds.)

I look at lug nuts as a strength and aesthetic thing. Anti-theft....meh..not so much. But, don't discount the other two. Last thing you need is for a lug nut to fail, or even back out. And lets face it, if you are worried about lug nuts, it's likely because you care about your car and probably have a set of non-factory wheels. THat means you care about your car's personal "look". In both cases, high quality lugs nuts are a reasonable investment.

I've had set of Gorilla locks for 8 years now on my '10 SS. bought them
mostly for my factory chrome wheels. When these Camaros were new
even the factory wheels were being stolen. Now, not so much. I put all
20 of the Gorilla #71644N on. If you do the same, make sure you order
the extra key.

Does any body know if the Gorilla #71644N locks fit the ZL1 studs?

Joining this thread.

I just ordered a set of the Gorilla #71644N.
Note that this part number pings the set of twenty-FOUR lugnuts.
I tried to find a set of 20, and didn't have any luck before I got impatient, and just ordered the 24-set. Might as well, because one might be not-quite-right, or I'll bugger one in the process of driveway antics.

I have 2016 SS wheels on my 2011 SS.

Will report my impressions of the Gorillaz when they arrive.

71643NBC..Black for my ZL1 reps and just recently put the stockers back on with A/S tire with the same lugs...the black looks pretty good on the silver rim...

and plus 1 on ordering an extra lug key...the second key actually has a better and taller design and will work with 2 diff size lug wrenches...at least that is what happened for me...good luck OP.

btw - another C5 member is sellin these...http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=514145
just like mine and a good deal to boot...
