I love people that can't read. You would not be my choice for a dealer. You just posted MSRP pricing in a Price Gouging Dealers thread. Although, I am impressed that you realize MSRP is considered price gouging by some people here.

Well, I thought I had a local no-gouge dealer but it fell through today after I handed in my deposit. The GM had a chnage of heart and is asking $6000 over MSRP now so I canceled my order :(

Ask for Jack Senn. I am the internet sales manager and Corvette and Truck specialist (and soon to be Camaro Specialist). I probably won't be able to give you a break on MSRP, but I won't charge anymore than that.

General Manager had a change of heart and is asking $6000 over MSRP now.

Foothill Ranch Chevrolet is an absolute joke. I worked directly with the sales manager and placed one order on Saturday and my friend placed his on Sunday. Form / Verbal agreement to MSRP on Saturday, Story changed on Sunday... Owner of dealer spoke to sales manager and wanted to refund deposit and order. Says customers will pay market price, if markup you pay, if not that you dont pay mark-up. Absolutely unacceptable and a waste of time. with 100K production this isnt exactly a ZR1. Check the blogs for MSRP dealers in California, I hope that gougers get zero orders! Pay deposit and special order for a car that wont be available for 6 months isnt enough i guess!! Called sandy sansing chevrolet in pensacola, fl and when I said that I had a question about the 'new camaro' he sighed and said "what." I figured maybe he had a bad day but then when I asked about getting msrp or lower he said that they would charge a 'premium' due to the popularity of the car. He wouldnt even tell me what it was, he just wanted me to give a deposit and said that the premium amount isn't decided yet but he could guarantee that sticker price isn't an option.

Yesterday I indicated that Ron Tonkin Chevrolet would be asking MSRP for the new Camaro, I must now report that they too will be gouging their "customers" for an additional $3000-$5000. I would avoid this dealer now or in the future.

Hi Ethan,
After going over a few meetings there is going to be a markup that will be from $3000 to $5000 on the Camaro depending on the trim level. I know there are other dealers that are in the $10000 to $15000 range. Sorry but the information from earlier. At the fast pace that things where moving all the information was not available when we talked. If you have any other questions or would like to place an order please let me know. At the moment we have five allocations open for orders still.

Hi Randy, thanks for the information. I will pay MSRP and not a penny more. I understand that Tonkin is certainly within their right to mark up the price to obscene and offensive levels, but you have just lost the chance to ever have me as a customer now or in the future.

I will also be adding Tonkin to the "dealer gouging list" on several Camaro websites that I belong to. Just because the other guys are raping people for even more money doesn't justify Tonkin doing it for a bit less.

I must say that I am disappointed. I have lived in the Northwest for many years and have always held the Tonkin group in high regard.

We are very excited to get the new Camaro. It will be a great fuel to the Chevrolet fire - I pitty the folks that are sitting on Dodge Challengers at 30K over MSRP - I hope the fans of that car realize they can have two Camaro's for one Challenger SRT-8.
