Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar tires

Title should be, "when the rubber hits the road"

So my 1LE still sits in the garge waiting for the weather to change so it can come out to play but in the meantime. I've been wondering how these tires are handling the weather situations for those that are driving them around?
Are they any good in the rain? around town? on a highway?
Its called a dry summer tire by goodyear and with minimal tread, should I be concerned getting caught in the rain on a highway?
Let me know!

Drove the car back 400 miles from the dealer where I got it..... More than half was in heavy rain, at night. I had no issues at all, but it was a bit nerve racking with no experience in the car. Just be smart and know you are driving a wide tire that is not an all season radial.

driven 6k on the tires. tires have been great in the rain just have to be careful especially in cold temps. Going to pickup a set of pilot super sports before summer, suppose to have more traction and better wear characteristics.

rain wasn't that big of a deal but these tires don't play well in cold weather! I've got almost 800 miles on them and the weather has been between 25 and 59!! ,,, when the tires are cold (below 40) they do a thing called trammeling which simply means that they have a mind of their own and want to go anywhere but straight!! they will follow any groves/ depressions in the road and any bumps will have them wanting to go left or right, you never know which!! As long as you keep a good hand on the wheel, pay attention, and don't drive like an idiot , they are manageable. but... come next fall I WILL be putting some all seasons on her for the winter. I even brought the car back thinking the front end was out of alignment. turns out it was the tires, they gave me a copy of the gm bulletin on them. once the temp gets above 50 you will notice a big improvement. supposed to be over 70 tuesday...can't wait!!!!!

Now that the 1LE has received all of the spectacular press coverage that it deserved, in 2014 Chevy should offer a more "all around" three season tire, at least as an option. And I think a nice 1LE emblem instead of the hood wrap would be fine with most. Or offer hood wrap delete as an option with a two hundred buck or so credit.

The car is made for handling. It wouldn't handle as well with an all season tire. Some 1LE owners are buying spare wheels and tires for daily driving and saving the 10 spokes and goodyears for the track.

I noticed this driving mine home from the dealership, it was right around 40 degrees and just like you said - it just seemed to randomly wander. Coming from a truck, I just figured steering was more sensitive to an uneven road than what I was used to. Hasn't happened since.

On a similar note, until today (now that it's finally 70 degrees), the traction control has been kicking in getting into my driveway which I hit slow and at an angle to avoid rubbing any low bits. What a horrible sound - I called Chevrolet to ask if frequent TCS would cause damage or premature wear. They said no, but I have my doubts given the sound it makes. Either way, I'm sure glad it's getting warmer to see just how sticky this rubber can get!
