Ok so I brought mine in to have this stuff done. I have to go back for the HVAC program because they had computer issues. They said the spoiler and the hoses were ok though. So I opened the trunk the other day and clunk, a nut fell off. Now what.... I guess they overlooked that too.

I got some tubing and stuck a magnet in the end. pulled off two fasteners with part of a ring compression tool I have and fished the bottom of the lid. There is a hole about 3 in in dia under the corner. Success! put the nut back with locktite and tightened the other three with a 10mm socket and some locktite. I still have to do the two center bolts or just have the dealer do it when I bring it back for the HVAC. The plastic fasteners are a pain to get off with care not to damage anything.

I hope this helps out anyone who has a nut rattling around in the lid.

Thanks for the photos Rays. Now I know what to look for.
Just picked up mine yesterday.

I thought I wouldn't have the loose spoiler bolts since they had to take OFF the spoiler to do the stripes at the dealer. Evidently the dealer doesn't use loctite either. All bolts were loose when they did the service bulletin.

I took mine in for the bulletin sometime back and to have the other bulletin of noise on passenger side taken care of...

Eventhough they said all nuts were checked...I got a loose nut rattling around as of a few days ago.

Thanks for posting about the Service Update. I will have my Camaro in to Chevy Dealership once the snow is off the roads in Fredericksburg, VA. I had about 9 inches of snow today and still getting it.

I read this thread months ago thankfully! The day I read it I went and checked my spoiler cause I'd heard something rattling around in the trunk days earlier. Of course that's exactly what it was! As for the rest I just waited to have checked by the dealership when I took it in for an oil change last month because I forgot to print up the documentation to show them the month before. When I took it into the Frank Para of Irving, TX dealership they were more than happy to give me my oil change. So I waited to see if they would even bother to mention anything about the recall. As expected the guy helping me said nothing and had no clue what I was talking about. Once I provided the documentation I found here he took it to his manager and came back with a change in his attitude.

Took mine in 11/2009 had oil change computer update, & Spoiler nuts checked.

Well yesterday while open trunk and guess what I hear; a nut rolling around in my Trunk.
So not sure how dealer fixed it. but I know what I will be doing now.
That tubing and magnet trick Thanks.
And put some Locktite on. Whitch it should since I had the 2010 serviced and requested this to be checked back in Nov of last year.

If you pull the 4 rubber plugs out and put 4 refridgerator magnets over the holes(business card size) the nuts will be caught on the magnets.
