Winter Storage

I have a v6 2LT that I want to put away for the winter.
I only have a car port with no electricity, so a trickle charger is not possible.
I plan to put her on plywood squares under the tires, inflate the tires to 50 psi, top off the tank, add stabalizer, fresh oil -Mobil1 5w30, wash and wax, put charcoal in buckets in front floor board, then cover with a Covercraft Evolution Block-it custom car cover. I plan on using the cover cable lock and additional cover tie downs to ensure the cover does not blow off. I live in N. E. Indiana and can get pretty hard cold winters. I plan to start her up once every two weeks and let her idle for about 1 hour to keep the battery up. I think running the engine at idle for an hour should get her up to operating temps.
What do you think?
Is there something more I should do?
Serious advise from others without a garage is appreciated.

Thanks!

Leave the tires alone and put it on jack stands (and it slows down theft)

Do not start it until you can drive it. Use a solar trickle charger.

Oil like molasses is not kind to cylinder walls and the condensation is not good from all the starts.

I have been storing collector cars for 30 years but this one will us a lot of juice and I do not want to reset everything next spring .

Are you saying your better off not to start it monthy and bring it to operating tempature. As well as moving it a few feet back and forth to lubricate diff and tranny.

i would look for a cheap set of tires and rims if possible or put the car on stands ,do not start car untill ready to drive , try to get a long enough outdoor extenstion cord and get a deltron battery tender not a trickle charger , if you start the car all you are doing is building up condensation in the engine and exhaust system that is not good, if you cannot get power at all to the car i woulld remove the battery as a last resort and make sure you store battery off the ground !! i would also look hard for a garage to rent lots of people have more junk in garage and with a little help from you , you could make enoughroom to fit a car!!!

do not start it till you can drive it, just leaving it idle will not get the oil up to operating temp, and will cause more condensation inside the engine. plus cold winter starts are hard on the engine

We are coming down but the Coq is iffy for the 2010 on the 20's.

Had hoped to have 18's/19 by now.

How many are going? Convoy?

We can be at Sumas by 11. I Have to pick up at Package Express.

Will turn it into a casino run and stop for a night on the way back.

Any more going? Lets get a BC group picture with an Auto bot.

There is a Auto Show thread in the Canada section, maybe we should move this conversation there. Gone there.

So I am going to put my girl away for the winter...in a climate controlled garage and covered. What are the recommendations......new oil, wash and wax, and what else?? Is it best to put it away and leave it for 4 months without starting it?? I need some advice from someone in the know??
