Blown head Gasket

Car went in for water leak, just got information back
Blown Head gasket
Car had 97,000 miles on it.
don't know if we are going to park it or fix it yet.

Fix it yourself, if your'e mechanically inclined. The LS engines are really simple to work on.

I don't think the V6's are with the overhead cams. If his is a 6?

It's almost always worth it

The car is worthless without it.
What will it cost and how much longer do you plan to drive it?
We had one done on a Grand-Am and it lasted the rest of it's life.

Looking at getting it fixed
Gaskets, chains water pump
About 4300
If I go with new engine 6500 but I get 3 year warrenty

Had my head gasket and timing chain replaced for about $2800. About 146k on the Odometer at the time.

Yes, V6's do have overhead cams, two cams (one exhaust cam and one intake cam) over each head.
