Help needed to decide on purchase

I have the option to buy the 60th produced Camaro that was used to show around the country ahead of the Transformer movie.

It is a 2LT with the same color, striping, and wheels as the "Bumblebee".

The bad is that it has paintchips according to the salesman from touring the country on the back of a flat bed.

I haven't seen it yet since I am 5 hours away but will view pictures that he sent.

The salesman will have the dealers body shop look at it to determine how bad are the paint chips.

I also know that this car probably was "pawed" by thousands of people although I don't believe it was sat in.

What say you?

Unless you are going to get an insane deal on it, I would walk away. Production is just about caught up. You could order the actual car you want, brand new and unflawed and get it reasonably quick.

I'd say if you can get the dealer to agree to repaint it, then go for it! #60 isn't that special of a # and having all the paint chips will just decrease the value.

Thanks for the replies.

I'm leaning toward letting it go to someone else and just ordering one that I want.

My first decision would be if the color is the correct Bumblebee as in the movie and not the rally yellow.

If you can get documentation of this "showing" for Transformers and it is the 60th produced and it is an R6P car and it is a decent price, I say hell yes!

I would not repaint it as it decreases its' value. If you plan on driving it alot, I would pass. As an investment..definately.

Like CTK1 said, you could order a new 2LT Bumblebee and be the first to drive a new car.

What is the price? If decent, have the dealer detail, change the oil, have the chips touched up at dealer or provide touch up paint (but NO repaint).

There will be MANY people who would jump on that car as a future investment for the reasons stated. Perhaps get the documentation from whomever you can and list in on Ebay, then use the profits and buy your Bumblebee LT?

I apologize for not answering sooner.

The price with TT&L is $30,900. This includes $4,000 worth of wheel upgrade (according to the salesman)

I just ordered a Camaro today but if you want that one it is at Classic Chevrolet in Sugarland Tx. The salesman is Ron Going.

i would pass on it. this car was all around touch by greasy fingers everywhere, carpets even though vaccumm out will be still dirty. for me it's like a used car. nothing can't beat the new car smell. but hey YOU are the one paying for it. i don't know your finance and how much the dealer is willing to take off on this car.. your wallet will decided if not your heart. Good luck, and keep us up to date!!

Thanks.

I passed on it and ordered a 1LT infernal orange with hockey stripes Saturday morning. The order will go in Monday and no later than the end of November I will have my Camaro. Yeah!

I agree...order EXACTLY the car that YOU want with all the options that YOU want...this way it is customized to YOU, and you aren't "settling" for a car that might not be just exactly what you wished for...

Just when I told myself that after I paid off my last vehicle I wouldn't incur another ball and chain I have to see a 2010 Camaro.

Oh well, you live only once.....
