6.2 truck manifold on an LS7
I talked to a car builder the other day about intake manifolds. He uses the Tahoe 6.2 V8 intake manifold on his LS7 motors and gets about 20 more hp. Anyone ever heard of this trick?

Didn't think the trucks got 6.2's but rather the 6.0's I could be wrong...

I own a 2010 Silverado with a 6.2L. They started putting them in the trucks (non AFM) in 2009 with crewcab LTZ models. 2010 they added LT trucks. Ryan

They did 1 year of tahoes and suburbans with 6.2s. But LS7 heads have a different bolt pattern and intake port than any other LSX engine so you would have to change heads to run a truck style intake.

If your builder told you that RUN Away from him ASAP!!!!!!!!
There's is no way you would fit an L92 intake on LS7 heads lol

Hot Rod LS Intake Comparison
Hot Rod Magazine did a comparison test recently on LS intake manifolds. The truck intakes faired surprisingly well. They are as ugly as sin, but perform. I was looking to put a LS3 intake on my 5.3 Avalanche. After reading this article, I just closed the hood and left it alone.

2009 did not have AFM/DOD...I believe that they started with that system in 2010. My 2009 Yukon Denali 6.2 and 2009 6.2 GMC Sierra did not have AFM/DOD. Of course the 5.3L had it a few years previous.

I find it hard to believe that the current LS7 setup in a Z/28 could be helped with heavier truck headers...show me the data err....dyno curve

LS7 uses a completely different port shape than the rest of the LS engines. I can't imagine it being efficient an any way.

your builder is on crack when he told you that as the ls7 and ls3 style heads are about the same diff as a ls1 head and ls3 bolt holes and ports are a mile diff
