When I ran the girl in the 5.0 auto we were both very low 13's on a test n tune night with temps in the mid 80's, very humid, and little track prep. My best time was a 13.027 and her's was a 13.074. She had a 1/4 tank of gas, silly me had a full tank!

3.31 are the optional gears in the Auto.
The 3.31 Manual cars are a little quicker b/c we dont have to shift into 5th gear just around the 1000ft like the manual cars with the 3.55 or 3.73. |

It seems the standard (and only gear) available with the automatic is the 3.15, optional gears available with manual trans only.
Her 1/4 tank was ~24 lbs, your full tank was ~114lbs. So maybe a tenth advantage to her there ...

From a roll there is no contest the SS will win but at the strip with street tires I bet he beats you even if you are a good driver. A M6 with mods is just not ging to be able to put that power down. The auto GT will be able to launch cleanly assuming driver knows what he is doing and then never miss a shift. Get some DR's and a driver mod and you will be able to take him on both fronts.

Thats my problem. Im betting I would be quicker right now, as I am learning, if my car was stock. Am at 440 at the wheels and on P Zeros I keep spinning thru 1st and 2nd. I guess the solution is practice, practice, practice!

The solution would be a stickier tire actually...

Also, I'd avoid the nitto drag radials. Hard to get them sticky. Mickey Thompson are better. |
