1le plus procharger?

I will probably put Borla Exhaust and Xpipe when I get the 1le, I can't help to wonder how amazing a pro charger would be on a 1le, probably the best bang for your buck under a zl1? what would the 0 to 60 and quarter mile be with a pro charger?

I wouldn't want boost on a track car. Too many possible issues, mainly heat soak...

But in a straight line high 10's.

I'm not sure about a centi on a track car; maybe if it could be detuned to light boost and flat hp/tq profiles.

I mean, it'll be fast... And an centrifugal blower like a PC/ECS/Vortech will definitely add less heat than a roots-type (eaton/TVS) for sure... However it will add about 75-125lbs to your engine bay too... Just a thought.

However if you're going to focus on 1/4 mile... Just buy a 1SS or 2SS 8AT (with recaros if you want fancy seats) and slap a blower on it - It'll make tons of power nad in the case of the 2SS, have lots of nice amenities for the street/highway...

But if you're actually gonna track this thing and track it often, I'd just throw a mild cam in it, do headers/xpipe and a tune... Maybe a ported intake mani/tb if you want an an E85 tune. None of that stuff changes the weight (headers/xpipe should actually lighten it a bit, maybe 10-15lbs), and all will add decent (and more importantly, linear) power on track.

I plan on doing the above with a rotofab intake or something similar and trying to get 500-530whp NA out of it... which should be MORE than enough, and if it's not... Well a 150 shot might work too, haha

My plan right now is to buy a 1LE and supercharge it. Most likely a Magnuson Heartbeat blower, but I'll consider Whipple depending on how their system turns out. I've had great luck with the Heartbeat on my C6 Grand Sport, so that's the direction I'm leaning. The 1LE seems like the perfect starting point to build what I want.

Some might argue that a supercharger isn't the best choice for a track car, but I think its just fine for the occasional track day -- assuming its built and tuned right. Cars like the C6 ZR1 and C7Z prove that.

That said, I'm not too sure how well a centrifugal supercharger would work on the track. I had a Vortech T-trim making about 730 whp on a Z51 C6, and while it was ridiculously fast, the powerband wasn't exactly linear. I used it for airstrip events, not road course work, so I can't comment on that. I prefer PD type blowers myself, but to each their own.

Why not just wait a tiny bit longer and get a ZL1? It's pretty much a 1LE but with even bigger brakes, all the 2SS fancy bits, and a warranty-backed 650 HP. The price delta isn't going to be all that much different by the time you're done sorting out an aftermarket setup.

Having driven several turbo cars and now lived with a PD Supercharger day in day out, I cant fathom any reason for a Centrifugal supercharger other than Dyno Queen or Drag car. I would pick a PD Supercharger over the other methods of Boost on a daily driven car. Near instant torque and a powerband that is hard to fathom without experience.

As far as my 1LE, I'm torn between dropping it off at ADM Performance down the street for a LT4 supercharger, or staying NA with cam/headers/tune. Both sound fun.

IDK the 65K price tag of a ZL1 , got the 42K price for 1le plus 5k for pro charger , I just like louder exhaust , my corvette was never loud enough and the camaro is quieter. I will probably just do TUNE< ATAK and x pipe

5K for a procharger. Post up the info where to buy, that is a good deal.

Skip the S/C, you want louder and have it sound like a race car? Go with a Cam package and/or engine build. Get yourself a rumbling 600 HP N/A Beast.

The stock 1LE seems more than adequate for road coarse work bone stock. And has a warranty that covers track days to boot? I don't get adding weight to the front end, and all that extra heat. Why?

5k for the blower, it's needed accessories and proper tuning...never happen.

The base Procharger kit lists at $5995, and going to a "complete" kit with a canned ECU tune for $300 more. Once you belly up for the big boy intercooler, a dyno tune, and added radiator capacity to counteract the blocked airflow from the intercooler, you're going to be approaching $10k, assuming you do all your own wrenching correctly.

...add a few more grand if you go with the TVS setup. Neither of these setups will yield 650 hp right off the shelf. Lingenfelter's package price with the Magnusson TVS is $11k and they're advertising 630 HP, and they don't do anything with the cooling so you can bet it won't survive on-track.

So, 1LE + $11k for the Lingenfelter 630 package = ~$56k but bye bye GM warranty and still not as much power as the ZL1 and also missing the added features of the ZL1 (e.g. improved front end cooling, huge brakes, super nice interior).

IMO it doesn't seem logical. Get the 1LE if you want a naturally aspirated setup, and get a ZL1 if you want boosted.

Also, like BradfordCamaro said, a 1LE with cam/heads/header/intake/tune will be a monster in its own right with less front-end weight and no cooling headaches with the intercooler blocking airflow.
