Are Camaro's wrapped after built?

Can someone confirm if Camaro's are wrapped after built, just as the Vette's are? I heard of glue being on the Vette's after the wrap is removed at the dealerships. I did research and one way of removing it is with adhesive remover then wax... Which I'm sure the dealerships don't do. My concern is the detailer at the dealership will leave scuffs on my car so I'm considering doing it myself.

FYI- I have also seen a guy take a terry cloth to a car at the dealership. That's just asking for scuffs in the paint.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks.

No wrap, no nothing....it's a volume production car not a specialty car like the vette. Don't put a lot of stock in the wrap the vet comes in, many wish they weren't wrapped at all because the cover can come in loose or scratching the car…

Have the car rinsed with a hose so you can inspect it, and take it home and give it to a detailer, or do the detailing yourself.

There is no wrap on the Camaro, just adhesive plastic wrap in high risk areas.

With that being said, the only place other than the glass that 'Vettes get any adhesive is on the mirrors. Also, I have yet to see any 'Vettes that have had the cloth protective cover come loose, in fact, it takes quite a bit of work to get the cover off.

The cover on the Vettes is actually pretty nice and works well. If they're loose, it's because it wasn't put on correctly. I've never seen one come to us loose. They do their job quite well too. When we take them off, we often find sand and pebbles at the bottom of the windshield. The cars are usually pretty clean under the covers too.

I wish they would ship the Camaros with covers like that.

This is what I am going to tell them. Remove any covers/wrapping, and just hand wash it. I am going to tell them not to "detail" it...

Always deny first detail, have a real professional detailer do it.

I think he's referring to the Hood wrap. it's put on after the cars built. I had mine removed and painted on my 2013. cam out very nice. Wax on wax off Grasshopper.

Just tell them to rinse it, A hand wash can be a huge problem too, if the tools (wash Mitt, towels) are dirty that they use.

I agree. I've seen a "dealership detailer" take a hand tool with 3000 grit sandpaper to a Vette to take swirl mark out. Not the proper tool at all and I don't trust them.

I was referring to the whole car as the Vette's are. Nice Camaro!

Good point...

After I get my car I am going to be bothering you with some questions.

Will do and thanks...hopefully this thing arrives by December.

I wish you were a tad closer, I'd pay you to do the first full detail (clay bar/polish/wax/sealant/etc) as I don't have the tools to do this initial job. But will be anal about the upkeep...
