Hi everyone,
Some good advice here I see But I think I'll stick to the original plan and try to enter the country the legal way. I'll have to wait, sure, but I hope it's worth it. Meanwhile I'll have to settle with spending the holidays in the US as I've done for the past 2 years (and we're going back to Vegas in July baby! ). I've been meaning to get a sound clip of the car but haven't gotten around to it. One of these days... |

Welcome and a big congrats to you out there. I love this car and it's awesome that you got yours all the way out in Europe. Only thing that made me a bit nervous in Europe is some of the parking spots are super compact size and minis barely fit them. I don't believe a Camaro would at all. (Germany, England, France, Italy make bigger parking spots damn it.)
Was almost as bad as Japan was. You have a beautiful ride and a right to be proud. Btw, your English as far as reading and writing(the hard part,) is awesome. Just goes to show what most other foreign countries, especially Europe, kick our asses at education. lol |

Thank you Deemos, I hear that every now and then and it's always flattering. I like the language and I try to honor it by mastering it to my full extent, both in writing and verbally.
I hope you can tolerate the occational slip-up though Also, you're right about the parking spots here. I'd say about half the available lots are essentially dangerous to park in if you value your car. Some people should not have a car at all and others might as well buy it pre-dented :P WhiteLightning: It is a beautiful city, but the climate sucks too bad most of the time so if I could get the hell outta here, I would. I'll be careful about the environmentalists! "mental" is right haha |

@ Mr Meatballs...
If you are intent on moving to the USA, it will happen in due time. I am originally from Scotland, moved to the USA 8 years ago. I originally applied for a visa to come work in the USA on my own, with no luck. I was settling for coming here on vacation too. However, 2 years later, the company I was working for was closed down and the parent company, based in England was relocating current employees to other divisions within the UK. Well I went out on a limb and suggested coming to the USA division of the company. They looked into it, agreed and packed me up and shipped me over here. Being as the company was sending me over here, I had the right to apply for a work visa. After a couple of years here, I met the lovely Mrs G and ended up getting married. I now have a green card and have been happily married for 6 years. And as many will have seen, now have my first child on the way, resulting in the canceling of my 2SS/RS order. Where there's a will, there's a way, if you want to make it over here and make a life for yourself, it can happen. Good luck, and nice car!

Louis: Congrats on the most off-topic post of the year.
Cupra: First of all, congrats on the bun in the oven. Second of all, my condolances for having to cancel the order for a beautiful thing. And third of all, interesting to hear your story. I do work at a multinational company (a Swedish truck manufacturer) but unfortunately we have very few positions in the U.S. since we're not really on the market. So my chances of getting an employment over there are slim, at best. Right now I'm settling for participation in the green card lottery and also submitting the occational application to hiring companies. I'll be back with that sound clip! |
