What I mean by my original post was that, people see you driving up in a brand new camaro and they don't want you to go faster than they already are, so they speed up and "regulate", hence being the sheriff

Ah-ha. I was 'thinking' you meant something like that, but didn't want to ASSume.

I've done that very thing but in my case, I just considered it out-driving an a-hole. Normally the ones I'd seen were the ones dodging in and out of cars at 90-100 mph and I figured if I out-drove them in my crappier car, they'd get the hint.

this exact thing actually happend to me TWICE this past weekend. One hatchback civic, and one ford ranger.... I'll just say neither prevented me from passing them haha

I've only had this car since march 26th and i've already had 2 tickets. I either need a radar detector, or stop going to alberta...

and yet I got a ticket for doing 67mph on an empty freeway at midnight right as it changed from a 65mph zone to a 50mph zone. You really like are lucky sob

I honestly don't know if the guys are just insecure or if they just want to see the car, or if they honestly think they're racing! I had a G8 V6 come up beside me this morning, and when I looked over at the girl driving I was planning on giving her the thumbs up because I love G8's, but she wouldn't look at me once I got up there and took off so I was just like Fine Then! I know she saw me cause I saw her check her rear-view several times :-)
