She Is Back, Better Than Ever.

Well, after a trans replacement and the addition of my new Ripshifter my baby finally is back home.

Must say shifter is a definate Plus. Also got engine covers mounted although I still need some fine tunning on them. I am hoping somebody will eventually come up with something after market other wise I think I will be buying another engine cover and trying it again. anyway ...

She is back better than ever.I think I have finnaly reached the end of my Journey .....Nothing left but to drive drive drive.

Here is a photo or two with engine cover or should I say coil covers now.
Also the shifter which looks exactly stock for those who are wanting that look....

No... some Output shafts are breaking on six speeds

My dealer has had two already one with out a blower.

Dealer warranty covered tranny with... upgraded parts.... there words not mine.

I must say GM really did an awesome job...

New tranny fed exed broke friday new tranny Monday,.

Than while tranny was out Dealer pput rip shift on for no extra labor since they had to put a shifter on anyway. I paid for shifter and shipping.

Take it easy on the trannys are breaking at an alarming rate. You don't want to start another panic. It's a pretty small vin range not a widespread problem.

Send a message via AIM to omegaman
Please, more details about the RIPShifter. Noticeably more positive shifts than stock? Less vibration?

Any feedback greatly appreciated.

I made two hard passes at the dealer before I left...

They eat that stuff up. The whole place just comes to a stand still and watches.

They love my car as much as I do...

They all want want just like it.

The other guy who's tranny broke same as mine... is just chomping at the bit for a blower. I give him another week

My Bad...Fixed

Most are getting driven pretty hard. And If I didn't say it already GM is on the ball on this one The tranny was overnited they picked up towing fees and I don't blame them for anything.

I think Tremec Had a heat treat problem ( This is my opinion only and I know very little) on some output shfts, but no worries.. they will make it right.

Absolutely perfect shifts. Nice short throw with very crisp and not clunky shifts.

Also comes with its own stops so you can't overshift and bust up other syncro's etc.

Not that I have heard of that happening my point is that it is now impossible, it has its own adjustable stops.

Dealer was a little tiffed at the install since he did me a favor. It wasn't quite as easy as someone... who shall remain nameless, said it would be.

I wanted the rip shifter for several reasons. One, being that I could use stock shift knob and the only thing I have seen from Hurst is a white Ball. I wanted a stock look. Don't want to give away what's lurking under the hood. IMHO Better product...but I have never tried the Hurst so my opinion doesn't mean much.

It took a couple trips to a machine shop to make that happen but water under the bridge the shifter performs flawlessly.

No noise...I have heard they were noisy, but I don't hear it ...yet anyway.

It's all good at this point
