Your torque curve looks real nice. I think you would have peak HP greater than 400 if they had pulled it al the way out to 7000 RPM. Did they explain why the terminated the pull early? Was that power drop off starting before they let off the throttle or just a result of them ending the run?

Not exactly sure. I know the tune isn't quite finished and we're not running a whole lot of boost at the moment (~6psi). We're gonna up the boost later.

New numbers. IPS twin garrett turbos, ported throttle body, corsa exhaust. 461 hp 443 TQ. I sadly don't have any other information other than the graph since I wasn't there. but I'll try to find if they have it.

Sorry for the ignorant question, but why are all the manuals doing pulls in 3rd gear, which has a transmission ratio of 1.63:1?

I thought you wanted to dyno as close to 1:1 as possible, which for the manuals is in 5th gear?

Us auto folk don't have a 1:1 gear; 4th and 5th are about equally on either side of it.

I can understand if you have a car that's speed limited at 113mph that you probably hit the limiter in the higher gears, but is that still the case for those limited to 155?

Most dyno operators won't want to do a 5th gear pull on a NA V6 because it takes so long. Additionally, it will hit the 155 limit well before it reaches redline in 5th.

Cars with 18" wheels/tires are limited to 118, not 113, just a reminder.

Not according to Chevy.

I admit that those w/18" wheels may have personal experience otherwise, but "officially," it's 113 MPH.

Thanks for the explanation. How does this affect the results? Does is there some correction applied based on the specific gear ratio that is used?

It is my understanding that some dynos can account for the final ratio, but I don't think many operators do that. I'm not sure how much a difference it makes, really. Maybe someone like Matt or Rhino can chime in on that one.

In my case, the dyno operator kept hitting the speed limiter before he could get a full run so he did the rest of the runs in 3rd gear. I'm not sure what it does for the results.

Edit: Also I haven't forgotten about the guys who have posted their results since 6/25 - will update the charts soon.

Thanks for the replies, guys.

I wonder how many cars can actually dyno their 1:1 gear ratio. Most would have it in 4th or 5th gear, so anything with a speed limiter of less than 160 MPH probably couldn't dyno that, right? That would eliminate a large percentage of cars, I'd think.

That would be good.
