Boost Controller recommendations

I'm probably going to install a boost controller on the Huron Speed twin kit I have. For the people who have done this, did you use one solenoid or two? I think there are advantages to doing it either way, I'm just curious what has worked for other people.

AEM TruBoost is common and affordable. Single port and uses a standard PWM type signal.

A single solenoid may get you about 2x the wastegate spring in boost (e.g., you have an 8# spring, you may get up to 16# boost with the EBC). This is generally fine with a SBE LS3/L99 setup.

A dual solenoid may get up 3-4x the wastegate spring. You will loose precise adjustments when getting high in boost, like adjusting a few WG duty cycle point may get you a larger swing in boost.

Boostleash pulse controller with built in bump feature. It also data logs each run and shows boost throughout the run.

I was using the built in boost controller on ms3. It's a total pos so I'm switching to the boost leash. I'm using co2 as well. Highly recommend using it

Im on aem tru boost, its really simple and has a scramble option, open loop style controller.

If i could do it over again i'd get an Eboost 2, just to play with boost by gear.

I have the AEM TruBoost currently. Really like it for as simple as it is and use both boost settings A and B, plus have the Scramble hooked up. Overboost protection works well. Easy to program right on the gauge.

Recently I purchased a Cortez. It has a lot of bells and whistles including boost by gear and can control meth, nitrous, secondary fuel pumps, and/or do scramble. I haven't had time to swap out controllers just yet. Expecting it to be really groovy.

Hi dreksnot

I've been looking at getting a Cortez unit as well but I know very little (nothing) about boost controllers. Can you expand a little on why you decided to go with the Cortez unit? When you get around to installing in please do post. I'd love to have a walk-through of sorts from a Camaro owners pov.

I'm installing my EBC this weekend. Where are you guys mounting the solenoid? My turbo kit is the Huron single kit.
