l99 to ls3 conversion question

Did a search, but did not find the answer I was looking for.

I am doing the L99 to LS3 conversion and I purchased the new cam position sensor and the new cam position sensor harness. But looking at my factory harness female side is a 5 terminal connector and the new harness connector is 3 terminal which wont plug in. I'm guessing this has to be modified or did i buy the wrong part? Thanks so much

Matt

I'm not sure what everyone else did, but I used original harness minus the plug for variable cam timing as I used 3 bolt cam, but I used the 3 terminal bracket to hold the 5 pin plug to keep it all tidy.

Sorry, it is 3 terminal when i took pic, i don't have pic of 5 pin terminal, All I did was open retainer a little where bottom 3 pin was & squeezed in 5 pin minus 2 pins that were used for variable cam timing as I did not want to butcher main loom.

We normally cut a little spacer for the L99 Cam/Harness bracket and reuse it on the new setup. We normally also de-pin the wiring for the cam phaser just to clean it up a bit.

Can you give a pic of one, or explain how you did this please.

A LOT of people say and post that they did this, (or know how to), but very little useable information is given.
