Only the Z/28 has the JTEC Torsen. The 1LE is an SS carrier with a 3.91 gear.

I put an Eaton TruTrack in my Jeep Wrangler, and though I know it's bulletproof and works well, when you pair it to a manual transmission, the 1/3 to 1/4 turn required to spool and unspool results in a hell of a lot of "clunk"....

I swear the 1LE had the Torsen... Need to do some homework.

I can assure you 100% the 1LE does not have a Torsen from the factory.

This is more of a description of a Eaton Detroit Locker.

Yep, many of us have now switched to TruTrac (or similar) for better reliability, if not better performance. Unlike Corvettes' sturdy clutch type diff, SS diff is just not cut for the duty

I'll be moving to FL here soon and plan on running it quite a bit there. I figured if I can make this diff last more then a dozen track days then the cooler works, time will tell and I will for sure let everyone know how and if it works out.
OK I do have the noise as well. It indeed happens only when the car is very cold. I'm guessing we're just hearing the noise of the transmission which was better insulated before this change. We are running a hard line from the transmission all the way to the differential. I have hidden the line behind the heat shield, so mine is touching the car (at least the heat shield) for sure. I agree that as long as we know what it is, it's not a big deal, especially since it goes away once it warms up.

THE QUESTION IS: Is it just noise being transmitted, or do we have a problem (like the clutch slave coming apart)?

As far as any difference it makes: I really can't answer that yet. I just finished my first track day but ambient Temps were in the mid 50*-lower 60* so I am sure not enough to really tell.

Once installed there ido have the cooler.I added it when I made my order through Becky at rodgers chevy. It was installed at the dealer prior to delivery of the car to me. It is under warranty so that is always a plus.

Once installed there is an audible gurgling noise when the car is cold, which, is unsettling if you don't know it's supposed to be there.

Anyway that's about all I can report for now. I hope it helps.
Does yours sound like this?

It'd be nice to get a video. I made a video myself last night, but the noise was too subtle to hear. Once warm, there's no noise. I really started thinking it's nothing important. We have hard lines going along the car which might touch and make noise, and I'm also wondering if the Z/28 diff lid's bushing that comes with the kit has a stiffer rating, too.
