Angeles Crest anyone?

I just drove up there in my buddies newer F series pick-up. Freaky road to say the least, especially once you get higher up in elevation in the narrower sections. Anyone else here been up the road? I'm interested to hear stories...

YES many times....And yes that road rocks...I've had a few near death experiances racing other cars on that road...Now that I'm old i don't think Id drive it like I did before. At one time I had in nearly memoriezed from Palmdale to Pasadina...There are alot of great roads like that in So Cal.

^ Definitely. Roads of all different complexities too! Yet another reason I believe it will be much much harder for me to move out of state. We have Mulholland (Which you can hardly drive on these days it seems), Kannan, Latigo, Laurel Canyon (busy but great when empty) and the list goes on and on and on...

That's my playground!

When DaveMcFly was out here visiting, I took him for a thrill ride on the Crest.

Occasionally, the local GTOs take a run up there. I used to carve the canyons a lot, but due to the insanity of gas prices I don't go as often as I used to

If anyone's ever interested in running up there, let me know - I'll scrape some $$ together for gas cash

I live in the "ghetto" area of Monrovia - near Duarte Rd and Myrtle

Not a bad area - certainly no ghetto. Faschings Car Wash is the best!

I used to live near there, in Sierra Madre by the Mt. Wilson trailhead

It sucks that you can't take Angeles Crest to Wrightwood anymore
