I bet it does! And it really probably would be reliable. For some reason I keep on throwing cash into the other bottomless pit of a car project that is driven ~500 miles each year. No end in sight for that one

Hey guys. So I settled on a SS3 GPI cam and triple disc converter. Paired with the 10355 HV oil pump. Going to add Trunion upgrade and lifters.

I was curious though. I’m at 703/682tq currently. And I’m curious what the safe power level is for the 6l90/ LSA motor is. I’m being told I’ll gain 80-90 hp with this stage 3 cam package. So I’ll be around 800 wheel HP. I have a friend who has CTS V and when he’s gone WOT into 5th he destroyed his intermediate shaft. He is at 750 whp power level. So I’m kinda nervous I’m gonna destroy the trans.

The consensus is 750-800rwhp. With the understanding that dynos vary, and vary w/ the weather. And... it really depends on how it's driven. Also understand the CTSV has a different driveshaft than the Z. From a dead hook, very few vehicles can withstand 800rwhp w/ stock drivetrain.

WELL GUYS!!!

So, plans changed a bit. Ended up spinning a main bearing. Took me 2-3 months to save up and 6 months for them to build it. But ended up with a fully forged built short block. I also added a custom spec cam while engine was out. Put it all back together. And ended at a final 787 whp / 719 tq after essentially just a cam swap and making engine stronger! At some point might end up doing ported heads, blower and 103 TB! But we shall see what the future holds! Anyways that’s the only updates for now!! Will add some more pics to the build post!

Care to share your cam specs?
What oil pressure are you seeing with the 10355HV? I have one on the way and can't decide if I want to use its standard spring or the higher pressure spring that comes in the box. I realize your forged SB probably has different bearing clearances and all, just curious.
Thanks

I did a local legends cam specs. Called the Daddy Caddy. I believe you can YouTube him. He’s on ThatRacingChannel. He shares the exact specs. He is who actually helped me put the car back together! Him and his good friend Aaron. I am now seeing right under 70psi on the gauge at cold start - right in the middle of 30 and 70 on the gauge at warm idle.

I am running that same pressure with my Melling 10295. I have a set of Aeroforce Interceptor pillar gauges and at warm idle it says 35-37psi and 57-58 cruising when warmed up, cold startup it will show 62-63. And on my "cluster" gauges it shows the same as yours does. Just posted this so you could see what I see vs the stock gauges.
