My dream has finally come true!
Ever since I got my first V8 Camaro, I have dreamed of the day I could afford and install my own supercharger. Four more Camaros and 20 years of drooling over boosted cars on 3rd and 4th gen forums later, it has finally happened. I bought my LSA kit back in November, began the install on Thanksgiving weekend, spent most of Dec. and Jan. feeling way over my head and regretting tearing apart my perfect running 20k mile car (I refused to even touch it for most of that time), finally got back on it in Feb. and started making some good progress, then wrapped it up earlier this month and drove it to the tuner last Fri. I nervously awaited the results expecting the worst, but then I got the text Mon. saying it was done and everything went smooth, no leaks, no fuel issues, no belt slip…. 592hp/590tq. Huge sigh of relief, followed by a bad case of permagrin. I was hoping for 550+ but damn 600 would’ve been nice, so close! I picked it up yesterday and had all kinds of fun on my 1 hour drive back home, it’s not even close to the same car anymore so now I get to relearn how to drive it. I almost lost her a couple times. lol It’s literally everything I hoped it would be and more, absolutely no regrets. Thanks to all the guys in the FI section who steered me towards the LSA, it fit my goals perfectly. Also a huge thanks to HAMMDO for taking the time to create the install instructions, they were a tremendous help. It’s going to be a fun summer, say a prayer for my stock clutch!

Congrats. That’s not a ‘bolt-on’ for the mechanically challenged! Did you get the unit through a dealer?

Thanks all!
Mojo - No, another member gave me the number of a guy who sells these kits as a sidejob. I got a stage 2 kit full of upgrades (see my sig) for less than any of the other base kits I could find, he was also very helpful when it came to the install. Great deal all around! Splat - No, I ditched them. The look on my wife and kids' face as I pulled out of the garage this morning was priceless. Apparently they do not approve of the new smell. lol |
