I drive in Miami and Ft. Lauderdale traffic daily and I got the 2SS M6 and have no regrets.
Besides, why spend $1,200 and leave 26 hp and 10 ft. lbs torque on the table? Get the M6 and you get the Vette engine, otherwise, you end up with the L99 which was designed to satisfy their CAFE standards. Also, the A6 car is 53 lbs heavier (pushing the car over 3900 lbs) with more drive-line power loss than the manual. GeorgeM |

Driving in heavy stop and go traffic, or areas where stoplights a close together, is a real pain with a manual transmission. And if you're in areas where you have to "start off" on a hill, it can be very challenging for everyday driving!
And if you are not pretty good at driving a manual, you will be working on the clutch, way before you ever touch the automatic. Just my 2 cents. Been driving manuals for 37 years, and my Camaro is a manual as well. |

I found it to a be very easy manual to drive. It shouldn't take you long to have it down.
I had not driven a stick since my Prelude 3.5 years ago. I didn't stall (or lay rubber) on my test drive. I'm def getting the stick, but you should get what you want. |

if you like manual...then manual it is...you will have to put up with what it brings....rowing through the gears, using the clutch, changing clutch fluid, changing clutch, using clutch too much in heavy traffic, have some people not driving your car because they don't know how to drive a standard
if you like automatic, then automatic it is...you will have to put up with what it brings...more time to tune the radio, play with paddle shifters instead of clutch and stick, have an easier drive in heavy traffic, and everyone will be able to drive your car. Really it is all about what you want.....not us. Good luck in your choice. |

I just want to put my 2 cents out there, because this Automatic is still a beast, and if you are going to be driving in LA traffic regularly... you'll appreciate it, i guarantee it! Quote:
If saying "I got a Vette" engine is the reason you want it... go for it!

Get the stick. Trust me, it's like driving a different car. Even if they mated the LS3 with an auto, the difference between driving a stick and auto is night and day.

you guys are awesome...and make a lot of great points on both sides...before i order i'm really going to take time to see what it takes to drive a stick and see if i can tolerate it during heavy traffic...i'm assuming it becomes like second nature at some point

This question MUST be answered by you and you only.
If you have patience, understand you CAN'T control others and the traffic, then it shouldn't be a problem. BUT YOU MUST DECIDE !!! |
