DIY photo guide for dashboard ABL
I thought I would make a photo summary of the Ambient Light installation for both drivers & passenger’s side
Many thanks go to the various respected Camaro5 members who diligently took the time to find & post their info Where & How to find & or remove the driver fuse panel\speedo cluster where the ABL light connectors are is found here: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=40804 |

I'll post my pics little later tonite...i have not sanded anything yet... not sure exactly where to sand as it may let the "ray of light" to not look even.
One thing for sure there aint no way that this light is going to give off any significant glare which would interfere with driving...hell i barley see it as it is. You have to turn the light tube a certain way to get the max light out of it when viewing it at any angle.....if you have one in your hands & its turned on you know what I mean.. cant really expain it unless you phsyically have one to look at |

any problems with heat or warping like what GM claimed to be the cause for scrapping the dash application?

The passenger's side trim ..where it meets the door .. is where i see theres a problem on how to anchor the light tube high enough to the upper egde of the plastric trim so the light can shine up thru it.. it's not deep enough to hold the light tube unless you cut part of the dash...the plastic dash trim is hard plastic & it's not going to give any at all. Sanding MAY work but then the light tube is further down from the top of the plastic trim and the "ABL light" line going across may not look like an even line going all the way across. Any ideas anyone?? Here are the pics with no flash for reference |

Great job! Did you do the door ABL mod? Your lights seem to go to the top; mine don't on either side.
Thanks!
