don't assume that....some like to just go fast on the track and has nothing to do with the way they drive on the street...

Years a go when I had my 68 camaro, I was pulled over doing 50 in a 40. I was traveling in a pack of cars and yet he picked me out of the middle. I asked why he picked me. He said.... "it's like duck hunting... you can't get them all".

I mean just what do you say to that? lol

I was thinking about this very thing on the way home.

I was traveling in a group of four cars, I was second. We were all doing about 74, posted limit is 65. I was wondering, if we all passed cops, who, if any of us, would he pull over b/c he can't pull us all over. Well, I guess he could try but anyway.... In order, it was: silver accord, me(black SS), blue something or other (I think it was a mazda 3), white mini van. I would venture a guess, I would have gotten pulled over due to my car. Just a guess though.

Both involve laws that don't reflect reality. Obviously, civil rights takes the cake on significance to American history, but the laws as they are simply are not good enough. Traffic laws expect that a low score on a driving test makes you a safe driver. After expecting safe driving from irresponsible drivers, it expects that those same drivers drive at or under a speed limit when most drivers consider a speed limit a minimum with a range of up to 15 mph over depending on who you ask.

When I had my Honda I used to drive a little too fast (10-12 over on 2 lane roads and 83-86 on the Interstate). I was lucky and I will admit despite everyone saying they are useless my Passport Escort saved my ass 5 times at least from a ticket.

Ever since I bought the Camaro I have purposely slowed down and made a point to set the cruise and stay in 5th or 6th gear. I usually stay around 7-8 over now. I hate getting passed all the time but the bottom line is that this car turns heads and that is universal. If it's turning the heads of kids that recognize it from a movie, chicks, soccer moms, whoever it is also catching the attention of officers who are paid to be vigilant.

My weakness is not speeding but I can't help but to accelerate fast. So let me ask those officers who have already added to this discussion:

If I do not exceed the speed limit or only do so by a few miles an hour can I be pulled over for hard acceleration (without tire burning)??? Technically doing nothing wrong.

I'm not an officer, but most jurisdictions refer to that as something like "exhibition of power."

Did you guys know that if you serve on a jury and don't agree with the law that is being applied to the defendant you don't have to convict because you disagree with it? This of course only applies if it was proven beyond a reasonable doubt that the defendant is guilty of breaking said law.

52 in a 40. I wouldn't have stopped you unless there were other factors, ie. congested area, kids playing outside, school zone etc. I give 15 mph buffer zone. No excuses when you are 15 mph or higher.
