Modern Muscle Mopar VS Chevrolet

Hey guys I was wondering if anyone here was planning to go to ATCO Raceway on the 13th (Next Sunday). I may be bracket racing my CGM there and thought it would be a good time. Plus we get to kick some mopar butt hahaha

I'm thinking about going. No chance of being beaten by any mopar modern muscle, but may get kicked out if I let it rip.

I've raced a few Modern Mopars upstate last spring at New Lebonon.

It was my first time on the track so I wasn't used to wearing a helmet nor having the windows rolled up. Needless to say my times were crap. Basically, I couldn't get out of the hole in any reasonable amount of time. I was basically doing 2.6 and 2.7 60ft times.

I ran against a charger and a challenger that both did 2.1 60ft times.

At mid track both were ahead by a two tenths but I was already doing 80 mph + and they were at 78 mph.

At the 1/4 mile mark I was around 110 mph and they were 98 and 99. I finished well ahead of them both by over 1/2 a second each.

Basically, the camaro is a ton faster. Once I was in third gear and took driving out of the equation the Camaro chased down and crushed the Mopars.

Unless they are modded you will find few Mopars willing to race.

Were those R/Ts or SRTs? Never seen a SRT trap that low, so sounds like RTs. My stock SRT with all-season radials was consistent at 60ft with between 2.1 and 2.2 times. Best stock trap speed was 109mph, that was at a DA of 1,600.

I doubt they were SRT's also. Prolly the 5.7's.

I beleive the two cars ran 14.1 and 14.0.

Curious though. What are good times for the SRT's stock. Is the challenger or charger faster or are they the same.

I still think a stock Camaro will run faster than any SRT though [but not with me driving :-) ]

Stock SRT8s (the 6.1L) times are ~13.2 @ 109. Lots of stock runs in the high 12's, but those are not the norm for stock cars. The Challenger 6.1 and Charger 6.1 share so many parts that they are nearly identical under the skin, so neither is faster, but the manual Challenger is more of a handful to launch on stock 255's .

Sorry flyby but without a roll bar you'd have to bracket race which is all about dialing in and reaction time.
