I may be wrong, but I'm pretty sure it's limited because 155mph is what the tires are rated for.

If only the Red Rocker would make a new song titled "I can't drive 155",and if you don't know the red rocker is Sammy Hagar, try his tequila sometime.

I don't get the 155 speed. It seems all cars that are governed stop there.

Nope sorry these are zr Y rated tires which have a rating of 186+. Its not the tires its GM shuting you down at 155. and if you guys wonder why 155 is the shut off point, because techinally once you hit 160 mph you have 5 G-forces, which is really scary if you haven't ever felt a extreme g-force. The average drivers which most people buying this car are can't handle 3 g-forces.

What do you mean you "have 5 G-Forces at 160 mph"? If your acceleration is zero, you're not experiencing any G-Forces. Where are these 5 G-Forces coming from? Instantaneous 160 mph to 0 mph stop?

Na, g-force is a measure of acceleration, so just going 160mph is not going to be 5g-force. Now, going from 0-100 in under a second would be about 5.0 g-force

A lot of the European cars are governed to 155, and i thought i heard they had some sort of agreement about it. Obviously Ferrari's, Porsche's, and other euro sports cars are not governed.

Technically, to achieve 5G while at 160 mph from straight line acceleration you have to start from 0 and be up to 160 mph in 3.265s. The Camaro takes roughly twice as long to go half as fast.

Or were you talking about the G load on the tires? If thats what you meant its a hell of a lot more than 5G

Why would it void the warranty going 155? Not that I'll get goin that fast, just wondering...

I don't remember feeling any of that when I hit 158 mph on my motorcycle on the track. Can the governor be killed/cut out? Not that I see myself going that fast in this car, unless it's on the track...
