lunging when breaking

When breaking 2013 ZL1 lunges occasionally, dealer can not find anything that would cause this, so there is nothing I can do to prevent it. looking for similar problems in other cars to find fix. Almost rear ended several people and very close calls on crashing into building, garage. NOT A GOOD THING TO HAVE HAPPENING!

Is your car an automatic or manual? Any mods? Does the car sound like it's still under throttle? My first guess would have been the brake reservoir, but I would hope the dealer would have checked that.

If you have an automatic I get an occasional jerk I would call it when in M and I use the tranny to downshift either with the throttle or brake. It's rare but does happen occasionally, I haven't had the dealer look at it yet but it seems like the tranny not brakes.

I guess for me "lunge" is not something I know the meaning of in this regard? Can you explain a little more?

What he is saying is when he slows down enough like pulling in his garage or slowinf down coming up on a car in front of him his car will "lunge" forward a little bit. Like it will jump a foot or so. I notice mine did this to me last week when I drove it to work and went to park it and was pulling into the spot and it jumped out maybe a foot or so.That was the only time mine has done that but if it keeps doing it it will need to be fixed. It will scare the crap out of you when it does it to.

If he is lunging forward that is different than mine. Mine is like someone hitting the brakes momentarily, it is so rare I doubt I could duplicate it for the dealer.

I have the same issue, but it is because of my LS3-B blower cam.....Its called Cam push, but there should not be enough on the stocker to cause an issue like this.

jenngarr,

Sincere apologies to hear about this lunging occurrence. This sounds very concerning and it's alarming to read of those situations you described. Do you feel a second opinion at another GM dealer is beneficial? If so, please message me privately and I can assist with that process. I'd like to ensure we've done all we can to address what you're experiencing.

Sincerely,

William R.

Well it does...not all the time, but coming up to a stop light driving at a normal speed and then stopping. The idle drops to about 500 RPM for a split second, then immediately jumps back up to about 950 and that is when I get the push, just one sudden lunge and its done.
