Chirping noise with belts removed... :( 2015 zl1
Has anyone heard this noise before? Sounds like its something in the passenger side valve train... I removed the belts just in case it was a pulley, which unfortunately wasn't the case.
Any ideas? Stock internals. https://youtube.com/shorts/TuAcIYFLo...zFDheFfGci1l9Z |

This video was taken prior to removing them. The noise was still there after.

Hows the clutch? Also you can buy an inexpensive stethoscope at advance Auto parts , or any of the big chains including Walmart I believe. That will help you target in the motor area. I have not heard that sound on these cars but the video doesn't give me any direction as If I was standing there. Since you are standing there it should be pretty simple to target the area of noise. I asked about the clutch because I have heard a similar sound when the clutch was really bad as the disk rattle when reving the motor. |

The sound is somewhere in the passenger side head/header connection area near the firewall. When i get home later, i will get underneath and check exhaust connections and heat shields. Doesn't sound like any exhaust leak I have ever heard but worth a shot? |

That's a bingo! Were the headers about to fall off? (Not really but really) yeah they were! What a nightmare of i shop i took it to. Scratched the bumper, never torqued headers, made a mess of the wiring under the hood, hacked up the ice box install... I guess thats what a loose header sounds like. Thanks for all the input guys.

20lbs on the header bolts, and yes the sound would go away if you depressed the clutch pedal as the clutch disk would stop spinning. |
