And his friend hasn't even put headers on, yet.

So, he threw on a turbo and gained just shy of 200 RWHP. You added bolt ons and a supercharger to get about 200 RWHP. So, if you are getting to bang for the buck, he wins that one. If you want to talk torque, then he probably gained more than you.
Headers and exhaust yes. Then TWO years later on the blower. If you honestly think a V6 is a better modding platform than the V8's then the conversion is done here because ignorance is a bliss. Why don't you see all the top dogs on here running around in the V6's? Have a good night all!

You know, I honestly think buying a 1LS V6 and getting a $6000 to $7000 turbo or supercharger installed is a better option than paying $9000 more for a V8. It's obviously putting power down at acceptable levels. They seem to be reliable going off other members' setups too...

Idk, I'll probably get flamed but I'm just sayin...

So what exactly do you run in the 1/4th or 1/8th. Can't find a time slip for you. Compare the fastest stock displacement FI V8 on this site (a L99) against the fastest stock L99. How many seconds did he gain? Now compare my times (A6 V6) to the fastest stock A6 V6? How many seconds did I gain? You'll find it is about the same amount. Now ask him if he got his car and all the mods for less than the cost of a ZL1.

Point is the V6 has just as much potential as the V8. It may not achieve the same absolute power levels, but it can be made to run as fast or faster than the V8 dyno queens on this site.

Is it ignorance, bias or both???

Either you're a v6 tree hugger or you didn't word your sentence towards me properly. You call boosting a engine as "just a kit" and doesn't "take much" yet say how it takes SO much to get a V8 at that power level with simple bolt-ons.

Two things sapping the L99's power is a automatic trans and AFM. The LS3 easily surpasses 400rwhp with bolt-ons and yet if you put at bolt-on LS3 vs a bolt on L99 it's still a drivers race.
You're an ignorant ego freak and give ALL Camaro owners a bad name... see? Isn't it fun to call eachother names?? Lol.

Let's get back on topic here folks.

I don't think the OP would void the warranty on their daily driver car (assuming) just for the sake of beating his friend in a race.

BTW. Has anyone given the OP a clear answer beside dice? I'm curious myself.

OP doesn't want to void warranty, so how does he beat a turbo V6 with out voiding the warranty?

OK BOYS N GIRLS

Original question is how does OP beat a turbo'd V6 and maintain his warranty. Thats it...there is no other ifs or buts. But of course it goes off topic and a V6 vs V8 war emerges once again.

Answer is that it is doubtful he can beat the turbo'd V6 without doing a mod that has more potential of voiding the warranty than say intake and exhaust. Sure he could do other small mods to help, or go outside the box and do weight savings which would help.

Thats the answer....period.

As for where this topic has ventured into. Everyone with half a brain knows the V8 has more/easier potential to go faster. What we also know (whether some people here choose to accept it) is that by spending 6 to 7K on FI for a V6, you can have a V6 that runs with fairly modded V8s for LESS cost.

Get in front. Stay in front.

I beat a friend's Challenger with my brother's base model Vega in High School, back in the 70s. I would not let him by me.

Boy, was my friend pissed. Chased me a with a machete in a Pizza Hut parking lot (the destination) while I laughed at him in front of our other friends.

Ah... Stupid youth.
