Holy crap... why do so many people sell their ZL1 right away?

Search on autotrader displayed 108 used ZL1s... Holy moly, for a limited production car that's been around for like 1/2 year, that's A LOT.

How many were produced/sold? Seems like everyone's dumping their ZL1...

I'm seeing a list of dealerships, my guess is a bunch of the [dealership] owners paid to play with these ZL1s for a few hundred miles as a demo car and are now listing them as used.

Get a lower price if you don't mind the FACT that somebody has beat the heck out of the car during the break in period.

Just my guess.

I guess they could be demos. How many of them are over MSRP used? Maybe there's some profiteering involved.

Not trolling (although I see why it looks that way), just being surprised. I like me some black ZL1 very much (with a good discount), was actually checking the prices and availability when I saw the number. I expected maybe 10-15, not a hundred.

As far as dealerships go, in my area anything that costs over 20k can't be test driven, lol, buy first then drive. I'd think dealership would be more careful with test drives, I don't know. Seems like people come over for a fun ride and never intend to buy the car. But yeah, wouldn't buy one with lots of miles from a dealership. Onlyl brand new or from the first owner (still a risk, but what can you do).

I traded my 2012 Coupe for a 2013 Convertible and it might be one that is listed. VIN was 1771 on my VR 2012. it only had 1560 miles when I traded it.

This is all about profitabilty.
Sev people bought these things strictly to sell.. I hope every one of them take a bath.

Dealerships dont sell demos as used.. a dealetship is allowed to put 6000 miles on a car without any titling of the car.. while this very s from state to state if the car is entitled, it can be sold as new no matter the miles

Thats exactly what I was scrolling down to write! Too much car, too much power, too much of a payment. $800 a month didnt sound bad when the hype was high. Now that reality has set in, thats a whole lotta cash for someone that cant afford it!

My dealer asked that in return for selling me the 13 ZL1 vert at msrp - $500, is that I give my word I wouldn't turn around and sell it to make a quick buck. Of course I agreed. Had no intention of doing that anyway.
